چکیده

The cross-couplings among several Weyl gravitons (described in the free limit by a sum of linearized Weyl actions) in the presence of a scalar field are studied with the help of the deformation theory based on local BRST cohomology. Under the hypotheses of locality, smoothness of the interactions in the coupling constant, Poincaré invariance, (background) Lorentz invariance, and the preservation of the number of derivatives on each field, together with the supplementary assumption that the internal metric defined by the sum of Weyl lagrangians is positively defined, we prove that there are no consistent cross-interactions among different Weyl gravitons in the presence of a scalar field. The couplings of a single Weyl graviton to a scalar field are also discussed. PACS number: 11.10.Ef

In this work we present some classes of models whose the corresponding two coupled first-order nonlinear equations can be put into a linear form, and consequently be solved completely. In these cases the so called trial orbit method is completely unnecessary. We recall that some physically important models as, for instance, the problem of tiling a plane with a network of defects and polymer pro...

We present a systematic semiclassical procedure to compute the partition function for scalar field theories at finite temperature. The central objects in our scheme are the solutions of the classical equations of motion in imaginary time, with spatially independent boundary conditions. Field fluctuations – both field deviations around these classical solutions, and fluctuations of the boundary ...

We present cosmological perturbation theory in mass varying neutrino models, and calculate cosmic microwave background anisotropies and matter power spectrum. In these models, the evolution of the mass of neutrinos is determined by the quintessence scalar field, which is responsible for the cosmic acceleration today. We consider several types of scalar field potentials and put constraints on th...

Abstract. It is shown that the commonly accepted definition for the Casimir scalar operators of the Poincaré group does not satisfy the properties of Casimir invariance when applied to the non-inertial motion of elementary particles while in the presence of external gravitational and electromagnetic fields, where general curvilinear coordinates are used to describe the momentum generators withi...

We present a new stationary, asymptotically flat solution of 5D EinsteinMaxwell gravity describing a Saturn-like black object: a rotating black hole surrounded by a rotating dipole black ring. The solution is generated by combining the vacuum black Saturn solution and the vacuum black ring solution with appropriately chosen parameters. Some basic properties of the solution are analyzed and the ...
